Mise en scene decisions

In this lesson we discussed the ways of mise-en-scene in our trailers. We learned about low key and high key lighting, and also watched the opening scene from 'Gangs of New York' in which the first time it was without viewing the screen and just listening to the audio, we then analyzed the costumes, settings, props, characters to create an idea of what we wanted to include ourselves. But the main feature was looking at the lighting and what lighting were going to use in our own trailers. High key: Used in films that which aims to use light and bright lighting normally used during the day An example of this shown in a film is of Tom and Summer in '500 days of summer' as the film is has an up lifting happy atmosphere it uses high lighting to create that feeling.
