INT. IN THE NEW HOUSE – DAY
A family has recently moved into a new house with boxes scattered around the house with a removal van waiting outside. Friends helping unpack and someone asks where something is.
PERSON 1
In the box over there!
Looks down and picks up a piece of paper from within a box and has an address written on it.
PERSON 2
What have you got there?
Friends all huddle around person 1 looking confused.
PERSON 1
We’ll talk about it later, lets finish unpacking first.
INT. LIVING ROOM – EVENING
Friends having dinner in the evening and have a discussion about the note they found earlier. Friend 1 is holding the note.
Cuts to shot of the address.
PERSON 1
Shall we check the address out then?
PERSON 3
No! Don’t be daft. It’s going to be dangerous.
PERSON 2
Yeah, lets check it out; it’ll be a laugh. You’re not scared are you?
EXT. ARRIVING AT THE HOUSE – EVENING
Establishing shot of the house. Dark, gloomy, unwelcoming atmosphere.
Friends walk up to the house. Door creaks and suddenly opens.
PERSON 1
Are you ready?
Looking nervous.
Friends walking through house, shows friend looking into an empty room.
PERSON 2
Look in here!
Goes in the empty room. Door shuts behind and locks but friends think she’s shut the door and is playing a joke as they bang on the door sarcastically pleads for help and laughs.
Friends continue to search around the house. They come across a room with a small TV screen that is showing the CCTV footage of their friend in the room. They hear them crying and pleading for help and realize it isn’t a joke. The screen loses signal and cuts to a message saying ‘too late’.
FRIEND 1
WE NEED TO HELP HER
(Screaming and crying)
The friends immediately run back to the room and shake the handle uncontrollably hoping it will open. They establish it is locked so they run back to the room with the TV screen in it and scatter the room to kind a key.
PERSON 4
We’re going to find a way to get her out, I promise.
FRIEND 1
Its all my fault, I was the one who suggested going here in the first place.
(Crying)
Friend 3 finds a key under an already lifted floorboard.
FRIEND 3
Look! I’ve found a key!
FRIEND 1
Lets go help her.
Friends run back too the room, open the door and find friend 2 sitting in the corner, rocking back and forth.
FRIEND 4
It’s too late! Look at her.
Friends begin to help friend 2 up but they start shaking and have a fit. Friends drop her and back away.
FRIEND 2
Screams
Having a fit on the floor.
FRIEND 1
What’s happening to her?
Friend 3
It looks like she’s possessed?
Friend 4
Lets get out of here. Quick!
Friends come to a conclusion that their body is being controlled by something. They decide to run away and seek for help.
EXT. IN THE WOODS – EVENING
Friends are running through the woods after finding out their friend is possessed.
Friend 1
Keep running, don’t look back!
Friend 3
She’s getting closer!
Friend 3 falls over a branch and gets caught by the possessed girl. The possessed girl chants an ancient curse at them causing them to be possessed too.
Friend 2
DESTROY YOUR SOUL, TAKE YOUR SOUL.
Other friends continue running, terrified of the possessed person shouting and being too scared to look back.
Friend 4 stops running because they think they have escaped and reached safety when suddenly check the address to see how far away from home they are and the address has turned into a message saying ‘you’re next’. Then the possessed friend appears behind them heavily breathing and grabs her. Her reaction is kicking and screaming for help but it’s too late.
INT. BACK AT THE HOUSE – MORNING (COUPLE WEEKS LATER)
Friend 1 escapes and lives her life normally with no fears.
Friend 1 hears something go through he letterbox. Hurries downstairs to see what it is, similar to the note they got at the beginning. Begins to open the letter, and sees the words saying ‘I’ve found you’ with their hands trembling.
Mother
What’s that?
(Shouting)
Friend 1
How could this happen to me? I thought I was safe?
(Screams and runs upstairs)
